What Happens in This Video
Paboom calls a boxing combination in Portuguese. Teacher Philip gives the corresponding fight terminology in English and performs the combination on the pads. The sequence repeats with different combinations, connecting practical vocabulary with physical demonstration.
Paboom and Teacher Philip
Paboom previously studied English with Teacher Philip and is a former student. This video was filmed during a combat-sports content and training shoot, combining Portuguese boxing commands, English fight vocabulary and pad work.
Boxing Vocabulary in Portuguese and English
- jab = jab
- direto = cross or straight right, depending on stance and context
- gancho = hook
- corpo = body
- cabeça = head
- jab no corpo = jab to the body
- gancho no corpo = hook to the body
Fight terminology is not always translated word for word. The goal is to use terminology commonly understood in English-speaking boxing and combat-sports environments.
Como falar combinações de boxe em inglês
Paboom já foi aluno de inglês do Teacher Philip. Neste vídeo, os dois juntam vocabulário de luta e treino de manopla: Paboom fala as combinações em português, Teacher Philip passa para o inglês usado no boxe e executa a sequência. É um exemplo prático de inglês para lutadores, inglês para boxe e vocabulário de luta em inglês para atletas brasileiros.
